Joe Tellmann is a 19 year old guitar player from Ohio. He has studied guitar and blues since he was 9 years old. Joe is an accomplished performer, and has played hundreds of live shows locally and nationally, including venues in Nashville, Memphis, Clarksdale, Mississippi, and Austin, Texas at South by Southwest.
Joe was invited to perform on the Woodsongs Old Time Radio Hour in Lexington, KY. He has been honored to be listed as a “Generation Blues Kid,” and was included as one of the “Young Guns” in the Blues Festival guide magazine.
Joe originally received a scholarship to attend the Pinetop Perkins Masterclass held in Clarksdale, Mississippi in 2014. After 4 years as a student, he returned in 2018 as a teaching assistant under guitar instructor under Fiona Boyes. When Bob Margolin was asked to headline the 2018 Dayton, Ohio Blues Festival, Joe and his band performed as his sidemen.
Joe is currently a first-year student at the University of Cincinnati’s College Conservatory of Music, studying Commercial Music Production. While attending college, Joe is currently writing and recording music for local band Argos and touring and performing with This Pine Box and other local Cincinnati groups. Joe is a self-taught luthier, and has completed 8 custom versions of well-known guitars.
